In what was only a matter of time, Evan Rubinson was removed as the CEO of Armadillo Enterprises/Dean Guitars by his own mother accused of embezzling over $420,000. It was reported that law enforcement escorted Evan off the premises.

Pam Keris-Robinson has filed a lawsuit against her son in Hillsborough County, Florida Circuit Court outlying how Evan stole from his late father, Elliot’s ‘Thoroughbred Music’ business which was the name of a music store Elliott had before purchasing Dean Guitars and forming Armadillo Enterprises. He used the $420,000 to buy himself items of luxury and lie about where the money went on paper.

We’ve reported here at All That Shreds since Evan took over the disasters he created and relationships his father had for decades he alienated.

Here’s a copy of the suit his mother filed in court. It is not known if the elder Rubinson is pursuing criminal charges against Evan at this time. More details to come as they become available.

Former Dean Employee: His demeanor, is that nobody on this planet is more important than Evan. Evan argues with Dave Mustaine. I’m like, Dude, without Dave Mustaine, you wouldn’t have lights on in this place. You know, because your other artist that keeps the lights on has been dead for 16 fucking years(Dimebag). so you gotta pull back on the “I’m the king of the fucking world there because Mustaine is like, “go suck a dick pal.” But he’s like, “This fucking asshole. This uneducated prick” And I’m like it’s Dave Mustaine, you know. He sells how many of your guitars?

That the problem with Evan is that he has never worked a day in his life. He’s got no sweat equity into this company, this business of any kind. And if Dean Guitars closed tomorrow, it would not affect his lifestyle for one second. So even if the greatest deal in the world fell into Evan’s lap right now, if Evan didn’t come up with the idea, he wouldn’t take it out of principle because he doesn’t care. He shows up at that office about 4 hours a week if that.

I recall having read threads about weird business decisions and lackluster quality control?

Anyway, I hope that some reputable and solid brand will take over and steer Dean back on a good path. The ML shape is too iconic to just die out because of some entitled douchebag.

Dean Z could be courted back by Armadillo. He's already onboard with Rita for a new line of Dime guitars so it makes perfect sense to bring him back.

Yeah I'm going through it and this comes off like those crazy right wing sites that post "news" with no sources.

In many venues, the public can search civil court dockets and Hillsborough is one of them. I looked it up and the case is showing, but I couldn't find the text of the complaint itself.

One would think the court docs would be available publicly somewhere if true? However that link says Evan was suing pamela, not the other way around and started in January.

^That site requires a subscription to view the complaint and I ain't that curious. But, yeah, Rubinson is the plaintiff in that suit you linked, but the one I found he was the Defendant. It's probably not surprising for parties suing and countersuing in a messy business kerfuffle.

The linked website is utter garbage, but the scans of the complaint look like a legitimate court filing. It is, however, missing a few pages. (The last "count" is incomplete and there's no signature page.)

There's also no case number, which is assigned when the complaint is actually filed. So it's impossible to say whether this complaint has been filed with the court yet.

Also, the complaint is about the management of a retail mall. Apparently this dude was the VP of Thoroughbred and was managing this mall the company owns. There's nothing in the complaint about Dean guitars or this guy being removed as CEO of Armadillo, so I don't know where this article is getting that info.

Lastly, it's important to keep in mind that even if this is a legit court filing, these are allegations. Just because someone says "so and so embezzled $420,000" in their court filing doesn't mean it's true.

Overall: Trashy website does piss-poor "reporting" for clicks. Move along.

Yes they're still at it. Besides, they've had a track record of running competitors, other brands, etc. they've bought up into the ground.
