I'm really jonesing for a maple boarded M-II at the minute, what sort of general "feel" do they have? I'm presuming the best parts of a Jackson Dinky & an Ibanez Prestige combined?
Do they feel like the 90s glory days of Jackson & Ibanez? I'm presuming the neck is probably more like a Jackson but slightly narrower? But still shreddy?
What's the going rate for these? Don't see many for sale...

They feel like the 90s glory days of ESP? i.e., not particularly like a Jackson and not even at all like an Ibanez. The neck is the usual ESP contour and has less shoulders than a Jackson and not as thin as virtually any shred-oriented Ibanez of the time.

I really need to try one don't I?... That's the issue. Very few non-mainstream guitars near me in stores to try. Is the neck drastically different to any current ESP E-II?

I never see them for sale for a reasonable price. Don't know why they don't just reissue it, but then again I don't know why esp do what they do generally

ESP Standard Series Horizon FR-II QM in Reindeer Blue. This is the last of my 3 "dream" guitars from when I was a teenager (technically would have been the NT version but those are unobtainium and I also generally prefer having a floating trem these days). Came in with some pretty extensive fretboard binding damage but I was able to work something out with the seller. I do wish it was in better condition but these things just never pop up for sale and I didn't want to have to wait another year or two to get ahold of one.

Condition wise - large dent on the tip of the headstock, extensive fretboard binding cracking around the frets, mismatched knobs, and one fine tuner that won't screw down past ~3/4. Finish is otherwise fairly excellent with some obligatory scratching - nothing you'd find without looking for it though. Frets in 9.5/10 condition.

Things I don't particularly like about it: gloss black would look better than the gray color the neck takes from the transparent black, and the neck tapers aggressively toward the body starting at the 11th fret so by the 15th fret it's VERY chunky.

Things I do like about it: looks fuckin sweet, plays as well as anything (maybe not a Majesty or a TA but that's a tough ask), sounds great, not that heavy for a floyd guitar (7.5lb), trem and control layout are WAY more usable than my PRS. Did I mention it looks fuckin sweet?

Hoping to score a used Standard Series Eclipse at some point and join the club. Any tips on where to find em? Prices seem all over the place on Reverb.

Whoa hoooold up. What's that model on the left, never seen it before. At least not that specific red metallic finish, EMG (I assume) and Hipshot combi. Looks delicious. The other guitars look neat too.

That's a newer M-II CTM-E/NT (I think, I might have some of the letters out of order).

I actually and reluctantly sold it over the weekend to fund another N-LP-CTM.

Does a MH have a specific name or is it just a Mirage-Horizon, It also seems to just be a LTD designation because all E II and up knife-stock Horizons are just called Horizons

This is my 2007 JH-200. Was a gift from my parents for sticking with guitar lessons for so long. Definitely beat up, spent most of its life with only one pickup but recently got an EMG 81/89R combo installed. Nothing special, plays like a beat up $400 guitar, but I love it.
