Insane deal on that TJ. Good deal on the Recto, by today's standards. The Rev G is a great amp, don’t get me wrong, I just feel like they're super overhyped now, which has driven prices through the roof. Remember, the TJ was like a $2000 amp used when the Rev G used to be $800. Now the TJ hasn't moved much, but the Recto has more than doubled. This isn't because it got better or less rare, the value has just been artificially increased because Gibson bought them and Mesa jacked up the prices. I loved the Rectos when they were under a grand. At twice that price or more, there are so many better amps IMO.

What does your gut say?
Right now, my gut is telling me the TJ might be a better tool for the job, which is low tuned, mid-paced death metal. I think it'll be tighter and thicker than a Rev G, which kinda sounds like it would be a better investment though, but I really dislike thinking of amps and gear in general in that manner. This isn't a stock market.

I had 2 Dual Rectifiers. 2 channel and a 3 channel, and I think one was a desirable revision. But it was before there was any real hype about the revisions and you had to be on the boogie forums to really hear much about it. I bought both of them used for 800 bucks. Gear prices have gone pretty wacky lately. Lots of pretty standard stuff from the 2000/2010's going for more almost more than it was worth new on the used market.

I would go for the Bogner. Both Dual Recs I had sounded great, but there's not really anything that special about them. I didnt even notice a shocking difference between the 2 and 3 channel, they were a few years apart though. My favorite recto for tighter high gain sounds is the Single Rectifier solo 50.
Also If the Bogner doesnt work out you can always find another used Dual Rec for sale somewhere.
