I'm using a Pod 2.0 and want to try to get closer to the tone on Meshuggah's Nothing (2002 version). Currently I'm boosting with a Boss MT-2 modded into an overdrive. I know they were using the TC Electronic Integrated Preamp as a boost on the Pod Pro (rackmount Pod 2.0) back then. Is there a pedal currently on the market similar to this? I thought about maybe the TC Spark Boost, or using an EQ pedal.

Any other recommendations on achieving that tone?

The Integrated Preamp was just a clean boost with an EQ. Plenty of ways of doing that.

Nothing special or magical about that piece of gear. There's a ton of pedals that do that exact same thing.

Most EQ pedals have a +10-12 dB overall boost control built in, like the MXR 10 band.

The trick will be knowing how to set the EQ to nail the sound.
