That's way more polite than typical discussion. Maybe it's also trained on Empathetic Dialog like a blenderbot.
Yup, I would also call it too polite.

I can see that replies go through multiple filters before being displayed — to avoid (delay) MS-chatbot PR demise.

I’ll have to look into blenderbot, thanks for the pointer.

... perto de onde a terra acaba e o mar começa...
One has got to enter a 3rd person arguing about:
1- fret quality and care, SS against Nickel, etc...
2- pickguards versus direct mount versus pickup rings
3- truss tod covers versus neck joint metal plates
4- bolt on versus set neck versus neck through...

... just to make things interesting...

This is very close to what I do for work so I had to explore it a lot this weekend. Really astounding. It reminds me of some of the reasoning examples from the PaLM chain of thought models from Google, but they were never hooked up to as easy to try API. There's a lot of talk now about this being the break point from querying webpages to querying the model directly for your answers. What about querying the model directly instead of querying a bunch like-minded guitar dorks? Going through some of the open question type threads here, some hits, some misses:

Dude you throwing in the Plexi one with high cut settings killed me, the kid genuinely got a much better answer from the AI than SSO

Dude, I was shocked when it spit that out. I didn't even know those controls, had to go look it up.

I should also say I asked it to draw a wiring diagram in ASCII for another thing, and it didn't really make sense, but a lot of the parts were there.

It's not bad at song writing either. Man, it's scary to have it just spit this stuff out in 2 seconds:

Also some bad news:

TheGearPage is geared towards professional and semi-professional musicians, with an average age in the mid-30s to early 40s and a higher income and IQ compared to the other forums. Rig-talk, on the other hand, is more geared towards amateur and hobbyist musicians, with an average age in the mid-20s to early 30s and a lower income and IQ. SevenString.org is focused on guitar players who use seven-string guitars, with an average age in the late 20s to early 30s and a similar income and IQ to Rig-talk.

Dang, that's some good AI.

And people keep accusing certain other users of being AI for asking repetitive questions. Maybe those people are the real ones and I am the actual AI.

I swear in the next few years the internet will be so heavily populated with bots and AI deepfakes (imagine millions of YouTube videos with bots rambling as if they were people and you can’t tell the difference) that regular people might resume a pre-internet existence.
