got this through a broker on Ebay, after negotiating a very nice price with free shipping which was lightning fast (amazing)
The neck on this one is sweet ,somewhere between the neck on my 550 and the neck on the 1550M. A touch fuller than the same neck that is on my 2770
Frets are in great shape and the body is as well (has a couple of the usual edge chips that ibbys have but not bad). Unfortunately the electronics a kind of fried , the pickups sound like utter crap, which is ok as I've ordered a H/S/S
pickguard from "Pearle guitars" to set it back to how it's supposed to be.
Going to go with an Aldrich in the bridge (push/pull volume pot) Duncan Classic stack and a 1/4 pounder in the neck.
Alder body (which I've never seen on an RG ), I know this was a one year japan only model, kind of rare H/S/S layout as well.
Been looking for a maple board h/S/S 24 fretter to replace my Soloist for gig and this one may be the ticket.
of course someone altered this pickguard and at some point went with actives as there is a battery route in the back :(
Is she a keeper? playability wise so far, won't know for sure until I get the new pick guard on it with pick ups that don't totally suck.
spent a good couple of hours cleaning her up had a bunch of corrosion , old rusty strings etc. I can see why I got it as cheap as I did , but cleaned up, she's looking and playing pretty nice.
polished the frets cleaned up as much of the rust as I could on day one.

I always really dig bound RG's. Nice pick up, the blonde board looks great against the red alder* (looked like ash at first, nice.)

2540mz were alder , the Rg2560MZEX was ash, different colors. the 2560 in Triburst is what I ws looking for but this popped up and I got it for such a good deal I figured .... "Go"

So looking closer at this body it does not appear to be alder but ash so I am guessing by the serial number and the finish that is is a
RG2560ZEx that got a maple board instead of rosewood

I was gonna say that body super looks like ash to my eye. Interesting.

Dude congrats, that looks great! Glad to hear it's a player!

Does it have a piezo pickup or did it have some EMG's at one point?
