This guitar lick is in 7/8 time, with the guitar tuned a full step down (D standard). The sequence works as a melodic soundscape you can build upon — it’s closer to an arpeggiated chord progression than a traditional lick, but it functions perfectly as a standalone phrase. Feel free to ask any questions
This lick is from my song "Parallels in Time" — off my new instrumental prog metal album "Wrath of the Divine". Full track on Bandcamp:

I'm going to try to explain it in the most schematic way possible, that is, I know how to do it with a Mac and its programs, although there is surely an equivalent in Windows.

  1. Screen Capture:
    • I use QuickTime Player (Mac)to record my Guitar Pro tab in real time.
    • Settings:
      • Guitar Pro in horizontal view(300% zoom).
      • Metronome enabled (to sync with my playing footage later).
  2. Editing (Final Cut Pro):
    • Import the Guitar Pro screen recording and my lick video into Final Cut.
    • Sync both tracks using the metronome as reference.
    • Position the TAB (top/bottom) where it’s least distracting.
  3. Visual Enhancements:
    • Apply the "Negative" effect + set blending mode to "Multiply".
    • Adjust opacity/whites to make the TAB transparent but readable.

I hope it helps you
