IMO the Orange Tiny Terror. The perfect 15w 800, next to a DSL20HR.

The tiny terror hits the 800 sound huh? Innnnnteresting.

The new studio classic 20 looks real interesting too. That is just a straight up 2204 circuit but with a 20w power section.

    I'd just grab a 2203

But seriously, I'd go for any USA production level model. Old MIGS, AORs, the 2ch models no one loves (yet sound good).

My all time favorite was the JCM800KK. That thing was an absolute beast of an amp. You didn't even have to use the EQ. Just turn the thing up and instant crushing tone.

I regret selling mine all the time.

Hard to beat a 2203 or 2204. If you can swing a Fryette Power Station as well, the non-master Marshall 1959 and 1987 are killer too. On a budget, the DSL green/crunch really sounds pretty darn good.

The Fryette Deliverance doesn’t really sound like a Marshall and has way more gain and low end, but it’s kind of a kindred spirit. I assume the Soldano Avenger and Diezel Big MaX are similar concepts: single channel, clean to mean.

I cringe thinking about whose idiotic idea it was to make that a limited run.
They'd have continued to sell the shit out of those for years if they kept making them.
Just add a loop and it's the most versatile 800 on the block

My Laney VH100R was pretty much a 2203 with a clean channel and a boost (design wise). It sounded good, but it was ungodly loud.

They should just bring it back without the signature badging.

I got my TT for $250 and to me it’s very much a 2204, just with a different mid voicing that’s distinctly Orange over Marshall.

I don’t get Marshall. The 800KK and the YJM are awesome. So they stop making them. They have a 2203 reissue, but won’t hot rod it and instead let Friedman and others take part of the market without any fight.

Peavey VTM. Has that JCM800 vibe, but with more options. And a lot cheaper. And heavier.

Yeah, things at Marshall are just weird.

Seems they want to be something of a lifestyle brand more than an amplifier brand these days.

They're totally letting the boutique market eat their lunch.

That said, it's nice seeing them try to stay current with the newer lower wattage offerings.

And it's not like they can't make great new amps either. The JVM is fucking awesome.

The KK was not a limited run but a regular production model, unlike for example the Zakk Wylde model. They simply stopped making them. I suppose sales weren't high enough to keep making them.

I have about 400 of them...

    upload_2019-5-12_15-7-46.jpeg

But seriously... Besides an actual Marshall, I'd say my Splawn QR (newer model with the pre/post 2007 switch, B+, and other assorted mods) is the fav I currently own.

Best I've heard is my friend's Ceriatone collection (JT45, 2525, and JCM800). Absolutely amazing.

Other than that... the Marshall 410HJS will probably be my next amp purchase.

I'm really confused why they're doing that, it's not like it worked out for Gibson...
