nope, same exact cable, same jacks. It is closer to 16 ft rather than the 10 ft everybody talks about, but I do intend to get me Mogami cable anyway and cut them to 10 ft length. Just bought a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe so a new cable will have to wait a bit, but it is next on the list

In the early days Dave Mustaine played the highest notes on the neck pickup ring, so that's at least doable and has been done. I don't think felt brackets would be a great idea though.
