yeah, did that too. At first I installed it the way Pertrucci has them, and it is shown so in my older photo attached above. Now it is installed with its rail side facing the bridge. That did actually add a small portion of highs, We also experimented with the neck pickup position, I can't...
as a matter of fact, I did to an extent
The guitar came stock with ESP branded 500K pots, I don't know the manufacturer, some say Alpha others say Bourns.
I changed them to CTS.
then I was advised to go no-load but couldn't find CTS metric ones but found a Bourns. Learned BTW that I do prefer...
Construction specs, yes, that's what I think it comes to. There's something in the interaction between the appointments that changes the balance of tone. At times it may get very unobviuos as to what it is that is not right, when every single factor seems to be just perfect per se.
thank you for your replies,
I'll check out the DiMarzio Ionizers. Sounds like they could be the ones to go for on this guitar. Their being not so hot is fine by me, and clarity and articulation is vital when it comes to dissonances and extensions
I forgot to mention I did fiddle with the...
A short preface first
I bought a JP7 here on SSO with a DiMarzio CL/LF set that I liked the sound of a lot. Then owned a MIJ Schecter Japan 7 superstrat with a Japanese version of the Tom Anderson / Schecter custom shop Super Rock / Monster Tone set that sounded very impressive as well...
I plug my guitar into a MXR KFK-1 10-band EQ pedal and then to my Kemper. Today I noticed a strange noise that I never noticed. Was it there before? I don't think so.
When the pedal is ON, there is a quiet pluming noise after the notes, some wooly-hissy-scratchy thing. If I scratch the strings...
nope, same exact cable, same jacks. It is closer to 16 ft rather than the 10 ft everybody talks about, but I do intend to get me Mogami cable anyway and cut them to 10 ft length. Just bought a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe so a new cable will have to wait a bit, but it is next on the list
yeah I'm leaning to 'they just don't work in this guitar' more and more, whatever the exact reason may be, it is something in the equasion that doesn't lead to the answer I'd like.
one blue Edwards artist V (a la KV but 3-deimensional) is Chisato of Pennicilin, another blue Edwards V (a la gibson V with one leg much shorter) is E-Zuka of Granrodeo
yeah but nope
pre 1993 PRS guitars only came with 24 frets and their neck pickup sounds better. It was only when mr. Smith decided to mount the gibson horsie and got the fired McCarty to pull the advertisement cart that they began to offer the 22, and that was the reason they started to offer...
In the early days Dave Mustaine played the highest notes on the neck pickup ring, so that's at least doable and has been done.
I don't think felt brackets would be a great idea though. But you could design a 100% reversible mod in the shape of a ramp that would use the pickup ring mounting srews...
every now and then reliced guitars appear in our national sector of the internet and people evry time keep on asking why would one want one in the first place, it is so....different. I understood that I can't explain to put it clearly
Browsing this forum it seems it is not the right place to ask things about an effector pedal circuit and how exactly this or that part works, and about possible modding them. I found a Reddit pedal modding community and asked my question and noone answered in 3 days. What would you propose as...
