Other than the really rattly spring units not really. All distortion channels except 3B is kinda loose and fat so just be aware. Not a flaw, thats how it is by design
This this this.. my old Triamp gave my tech hell of a time, four visits and something still needed to be fixed. Don't even get me started on retubing costs.
Other than that pretty solid amp, if you manage to spot one in good condition try it out.
I've finally managed to get a usual tone with pedals, but its still not saturated enough. The lowend is a bit weak and mids are honky..
I'll try again after I remove covers from my bridge pup
Personally I find the DSL a little too scooped for my taste. It also has this really deep modern voice which is cool, but not what I'm looking for. What I do like about it is the sweetened highend on it, you know how fizzy those old JCM2000s can get. Not the new ones
Since Friedmans are stupid...
i kinda did on OP, Brent Hinds and Jerry Cantrell. Im just gona stick with my pedal, what spunds good sounds good I guess. I will be getting a Friedman someday
They sound fine, I've watched both before tho
Thats a relief, Imma settle for a new pick cuz the bulk I got last week are thorougly thrashed by 0.60 strings I used to have. Now I have 52s and they sound tighter
Hmm my SC is a 25" with #7 pickups, O thought those were hot rodded PAFs. Imma chuck a Friedman Classic+ and see what happens. Apparantely my pickup height is on the verge of being too high so no can do with that
Its a MIA core SC250 I got past week, best axe Ive had so far
Its a PRS singlecut, mahogany body and neck with maple top so not the brightest of the bunch. I mean the flub isn't that bad but I just want a bit more from it
The Friedman OD is not flat response, its really good for pushing amps. Much better than a ts9 or a precision drive I used to have. I literally don't see a point of a flat clean boost tho, that cant be useful to anyone
Never thought about the palm mutes. Truth to be told I might be lowering my...
Yeah I'm not trying to nail recorded tones, those are layered with EQ and compression so a single amp setup will never sound that nice. I just want my amp to sound a bit relaxed, thats about it. With a boost the sound is too exaggerated, without it its too loose. Its 90% there tho, I account...
If I lower the gain even more from here my sound isn't saturated enough.. I cranked the level to hit the amp harder but it doesn't seem to saturate the way I want. It sounds like the amp is getting pushed too much and hitting a ceiling
This is the biggest gripe I have with my tone, it doesn't...
The Golden Pearl is designed to push amps so it does that bass cut mid push thing without adding dostortion of its own. It has a toggle that clips the signal harder and cuts more bass
Resonance.. I used to have it around 9 oclock. Didnt unflub the amp really
I've always used a boost with my Marshall because.. I was told so on the Internet. Jokes aside the DSL kinda sounds loose and flubby on classic gain 2 and OD1 anyways.
Then I really started to listen to some of my favorite songs and realized the guitar tracks don't seem that boosted. To me, at...
I actually like spending more money on new/botique gear because it helps my fight my GAS. Also I like to hear from the builder what their product is going to excel at. Thats just me tho.
Yeah the Polymaths have that distinct modern flavour to it. All of my buddies have been telling to get a SD...
