Wangs amps (boutique amps from China)

I have many amps that were made in Asia and they're all pretty reliable. Many brands make their amps overseas nowadays. That doesn't automatically mean that they'll break sooner.

Wangs amps (boutique amps from China)

I'm not an amp tech so I don't know much about the inner workings of amps. I was told that this amp is based on a Bogner modded SLO. Either way, regardless of how close it sounds to an actual SLO, I really like it! Someone who has both told me the Wangs is slightly looser sounding.

Wangs amps (boutique amps from China)

A bit of a necro bump but I recently got my Wangs HD-30 and I absolutely love this thing! My favorite Wangs so far. Of course I had to make an in-depth demo/review:

    The LTD Phoenix thread!

Turns out there were two cracks in the fretboard. I decided to fix it myself and learn how to do that because I would have hated it to send thus beautiful guitar back. Now it's all good again! I'll make videos about it...

    Headrush Prime

Hey all, Headrush FX just released the new Prime pedalboard and they sent me one to demo. It's an interesting unit for sure. I will say straight up that it's not perfect but I'm having a lot of fun with it. I talk about it more in-depth in my review but here are some of the main/new features...

The Friedman JJ JR, an amazing amp that is sometimes misunderstood! It's unique but it can sound huge with bass at 11! Boosts can help to make it sound more modern too:

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

There are soooo many 2 channel amps out there though. I guess it's for people who only need two channels? For the studio having the 6 modes makes it really versatile though!

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I can see why that would be an issue for live. For me in the studio it doesn't matter. But for high gain I prefer the xtreme mode anyway. It has the biggest low-end. The others like the IIC+ and IV modes are a little shy in the lows and I always dial them in too scooped for some reason. The...

ENGL Ironball 20 or Fireball 25?

Both of them are great at low levels. The Ironball is just very tight. The Fireball is a little more fat but you can always tighten that up with a boost. I love both but you just can't go wrong with the Fireball... In any case, you'll be happy! :)

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I was thinking of selling my Mark V 35 and put it up for sale even. Today I decided to give it another try and after 2 minutes of playing I immediately removed the ad. I just can't get rid of it. I'm not planning on getting a VII, at least not anytime soon and there's just nothing in my...
