Got this cool book about scales but..

Ok its called the Guitar Grimoire. First off, yes, I'm a dumbass, just play along here...:wavey: The entire book has the asceending and decending of the F major and minor scale. They have different positions throughout the entire neck. Now if this is F because the scale starts on F does that...

    Marshall or Line 6

I tried out this Line 6 Spider II 150W at a local pawn shop the other day and it actually sound really decent with my pedal. It has 2x12 celestion speakers, 2-channel, and 4 savable effect slots. Going for $130. Gonna try and talk him down though, but I think its a keeper!

    Marshall or Line 6

I'l keep looking around. I've tried out the Line 6 and I think it's pretty decent in the full crisp sound that I want, but Peaveys do blow them out of the water. It's pretty hard to find an 80W for around $200. And another question here, not to sound like a dumbass. Can a cab speaker...

    Marshall or Line 6

I'm looking to get a combo amp that can play over drums and possibly live. I did a little bit of research and I shouldn't need anything over 30W, but I'm not sure. I'm looking at a Line 6 IV Spider 30W, tons of effects and have played it before, but never cranked it up. Going $189, not bad...

    Acoustic Shredding

I've had to pawn my electric to get this laptop. Planning on getting it back by the end of October, but for the mean time I have an acoustic. I've never really practiced on an acoustic and would like to learn more songs and maybe techniques that are unique to it. I'm learning songs by Vivaldi...

Need help with rhythm guitar technique

Learn Have a Blast by Periphery. The main riff is what I got good at alternative picking with. It also helps with string skipping while alternate picking. Dysphoria by Cloudkicker or any song by The Discovery or Beacons album is how I got good at keeping odd rhythms.

    Odd Time Signatures/Chugg Patterns

How I memorize odd patterns is to find out where the "thall" sound is during the breakdown or where the accent is. I'm a total newb to theory and rhythm notation, so give me a break on the terminology. EX: |-------------------------------------------|...

I want to alternate pick ONLY

I can tremolo and gallop fine. It's just going up and down the strings and alternate picking. My hands just get jumbled and I lose placement. Taking it slower might help.

I want to alternate pick ONLY

When I started playing guitar, a friend of mine taught me the basics and that include down picking (only). I'm really tired of it and it really strains my arm. I can kind of alternate pick, but I really want to get the hang of it especially to do it fast. Right now, I'm learning Have a...

    Loiremusic Acoustic tabs

So a couple years ago I found this gem on Youtube called "loiremusic". He does his own renditions of famous Japanese songs used in theme songs or ending songs of drama television shows. Here's a video: (also subscribe) I would love to start a tab thread for the guys because I think...

Writing staff music and understanding notes

Thanks for the quick responses and that makes a lot more sense-ish. Question 2: Time sigs. I know nothing about them.. I know 4/4 is four beats a measure and I can play that fine. Time sigs like 4/3 and 7/8 I have no idea what they're talking about. Would 7/8 be 7 beat per 2 measures? and how...

Writing staff music and understanding notes

I'm starting to memorize notes on my guitar and have basic knowledge on writing out staff music. I don't wannabe write tabs anymore because when I do I can never remember note length and/or time. First question: How can you determine what octave the note is played specifically on guitar? Is...

    Bulb/periphery tabs?

Yeah. Practiced the intro at 50% speed and can almost play it full speed. Even with all the jumping around. Had to do a little tweaking on the gp tab, but sound ok to me. Posted from Sevenstring.org App for Android

    Bulb/periphery tabs?

The intro is extremely fast for what the tabs has me playing and in the covers it looks like they're plqying.something slightly different. Also when the chords come in right after that, there is no rest, but the tab calls for a palm muted open, which doesn't make sense. Hope this is what...
