    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I know, I've owned them. I specifically like the EVH here because of its darkness. The sizzle on the Mark sounds are what make them sound boring in comparison on this 🤷‍♂️

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

Interesting. Like the tightness and overall punch of the JP the most... But the EVH is really cool with the darker sound he has going on it. I assume the Marks sound different in the room than that as I've never felt they record as well as they sound live, but based off that recording, I'd take...

NAD - Mark V90 (and a couple of questions)

I always plugged mine into the top one. Not sure if it matters, though I never thought about it until now. My PS-1 doesn't even activate the second output until the first is used, but I don't remember that being the case with the Mark V. And yes, the Crunch setting is the crowing jewel of those...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I thought it would, until I A/B'd the two and didn't find it to make nearly as much of a difference as I thought it would. I've definitely heard a difference swapping to different power tubes in a head but Synergy has specifically built these modules around 6L6 power sections, because that's...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

Good question - I remember "co-designed" being the words I heard. I swear Steven said it in the video he did for Synergy introducing it but I rewatched it this morning and didn't hear the mention in there. Maybe it was that longer video shared earlier? I thought maybe it was in the manual as...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I had the IICP and UL modules. The IICP definitely gets a very convincing Mark tone. I felt like it lacked the punch of my Mark IV, but maybe that's just how the IIC+ is. I didn't know it, but apparently Steven Fryette co-designed the IIC+ with Randall Smith... So I imagine it's damn close. That...

What is your next guitar/gear purchase gonna be?

You'll need a DI box to use as a splitter. The thru output goes to the amp and then mic it, the DI output goes directly to the interface.

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

That's too bad 😭 Both of my kids slept really well in noisy environments. We'd try to keep it quiet, of course, but I've never woken up either of them playing at pretty decent volume just a few rooms over.

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I never had a problem playing guitar with my kids, that's what the volume knob is for. Drums, though... That's a different story. Even with an electric kit, it's still pretty loud and the tone of hitting the pads carries through walls (and ceilings) really well.

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I didn't think the Mark models sounded all that accurate when I had my FM3, but I guess I didn't try that hard with them, either, because there were more interesting amps in there IMO.

Same! $150 + shipping direct from Bogner. Totally useless outside of cosmetics, but I don't care. Totally worth it

Installed a new grill on the 101b today. Pretty sure this makes it sound better, right?

    "Best" Amp Capture Device?

I noticed that it had a hard time getting an accurate capture of channel 2 on the Synergy Uberschall module when I used the cab sim on it. I had to capture it like 4 times at different gain levels until it was right. As a direct capture, it nailed it just fine.

    Mesa Mark V vs Mark Five:35 - Crunch+IV Modes

Yeah, that's why the 25 appeals to me. There's enough of a price difference to make sense. At the price of the 35, it makes more sense to get the extra channel for a little more money. The 35 is kind of a weird product. People said the 25 isn't loud enough so they doubled the power amp and...

    "Best" Amp Capture Device?

ToneX is killer. If you already have a recording interface with a reamp box, it's a no-brainer (if not, buy a used Axe I/O for $150 and you're set). The pedal is great and you get $450 worth of software, plus the pedal with it for $400. Also has the advantage over all the other competition with...

    Mesa Mark V vs Mark Five:35 - Crunch+IV Modes

The 35 almost sounds darker to me in most of the clips. Maybe it's just the power amp saturation filling in the lows and low mids? The Crunch on the 90 sounds more "Classic" and British voiced, but I like the extra hair on the 35. Think I'm gonna do some more profiling of my extra amps today so...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

I think that's what gets me, mostly. The JP2C was their flagship, most expensive amp in the line. Then they replaced the V with an amp even more expensive. If they would've kept the same pricing or just bumped it slightly so it wasn't over the JP, I don't think anyone would've cared. Now they've...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

The Mark V added a TON of extra features. I imagine the parts for the CabClone are far less expensive than adding 2 extra modes per channel. The parts themselves for those mods probably aren't expensive, but the labor cost to install them certainly is. I imagine the CabClone module is something...

    New Mesa Boogie Mark amp?

In 2009, if I remember correctly, Mesa's main competition would've been USA Peaveys, Marshall and Soldano. They were about middle of the road in the prices from all of them. There were also boutique companies, like Mako, Baron and Titan that were, for the most part, cheaper. Bogner were harder...
