The EMG 81 is an active pickup, so its more prone to having a higher output due to the preamp. Since theres less dynamic range, its tends to sound more sterile and consistent sounding, which is bad or good depending on how you see it.
I have a multiscale Jackson with a 25.5 to 27 inch scale length, the playability is a bit to get used to and the stretches on the lower strings are a bit longer, but it depends on the model as the straight fret is different for different brands. If you play less technical stuff it'll be easy to...
In my opinion, EMG 81/85 set on guitars, we get it, its one of the most iconic pair of pickups, but would it kill to at least give some pickup variety?
It's alright I guess, not much of a slipknot fan. I feel like alot of slipknot songs now try to force clean singing into the chorus and they just sound so out of place.
