Why are you happy right now?

this is why I was so stoked about my Oreck. those are used by lots of hospitality places and they have very robust warranties in addition to being highly user-serviceable. been through far too many hoover/shark/etc plastic bullshit with flimsy proprietary non-serviceable parts. would love to...

Why are you happy right now?

I read that as "dragon ball vacuum" and was imagining an Oreck with the fabric bag holder made from one of those Goku button shirts. God that would be so fucking cool. One of the many unexpected aspects of adulthood is being excited about a nice vacuum. I got an Oreck XL pro II a couple months...

    SS Love and Relationships Thread

Important distinction, relationships are work but if the work isn't rewarding it isn't worth doing. I put a LOT of work into my second marriage, very little of it was reciprocated, and I suffered accordingly until I saw the writing on the wall and filed for my second divorce in as many years...

    New speakers vs new cab

I have a carvin cab with their "british voiced" speakers (the original not the crappy RI) basically proto redcoats, sounds rad as hell. also a beast of a cab, big and heavy.

    SS Love and Relationships Thread

Ditto, first LTR was 13 years, 8 of them married, to my high school sweetheart. Friends would frequently ask how we did it, always just told them it's a lot of hard work. Despite the external fetishization of our "perfect" marriage, I was the one who eventually asked for a divorce. She never...

    Hunting thread

Yes it does hahaha I was a little afraid of it at first but have gotten the hang of it. Got some pretty good bruises figuring out how to tuck it in. My two brothers got grandpa's M1 and grandpa's 12ga respectively. Unsure on the 12ga. model but a similar age and much more forgiving to fire...

Fulani Rock : Multicultural Fusion Senegalese Rock Song

The slideshow was slightly overwhelming with lots going on (maybe that's the intent) but I love the music and the overall aesthetic. The singer has a very powerful voice. Thanks for sharing.

    RIP Coolio :(

Damn, RIP. He came up here around 12 years ago and played to a smoke-filled room of maybe a dozen people. That was the same night my buddy and I accidentally got high in the halfway house parking lot. I mean, we didn't get high on accident, that part was on purpose. To be honest, neither of...

    Covid 19/Coronavirus

Damn man, hope you feel better soon with no major complications. Also sending thoughts and prayers to your friend that he might make better choices  Unfortunately the standard business practice seems to have mostly shifted back to the norm of guilting employees into coming to work unless...

Why are you happy right now?

Very glad to be back in public schools, even if I don't get paid enough for how hard my job is. Most adults, even other staff, wouldn't do what I do for twice what I make, but I love it and being around kids is just great. I won't ever have any of my own but I do adore the little monsters.

    Played out guitar aesthetics/features

I really love the earth-shattering sound of the reverb tank getting bonked just right, but only when I want it to happen hahahaha. My Lab Series L7 has a gorgeous-sounding spring reverb that makes very apparent god-awful sympathetic vibrations, it's so bad I thought my brand new Jensen speakers...

"Not Worth its own thread" Thread

Cheers dude, cool looking fiddle. I had an intro level PRS that I'd been gifted that had one pickup wired directly to the output, everything else had been stripped off, and it had been painted hot pink. I played the fuck out of it and I really miss it. Used it for every cover set I did, which at...

    SS Love and Relationships Thread

That stuff is so important and I also have had a long struggle building good boundaries around my me-time. It's all too easy to let it go and you often don't resent it 'til you do, at which point it's often too late. My respect for your continued efforts, you'll ultimately be a better, healthier...
