I don't usually poo-poo a guitar that has dots but it seems pretty unbecoming here, would it kill them to use piranhas or offset dots
I completely agree. Pirhannas and an ebony board would have made these legendary

Because these guitars are modeling a specific instrument

so I think i've narrowed down which bogner xtc to hunt for. I hunted and hunted for which one injected used and couldn't find the information so lol, I just emailed bogner and got a response in less than 10 minutes.

Looks like they used a 101b, and they recommended the 50 watt over the 35 if I went for one of the smaller heads for the 101b sound. I think I'll try and just hunt for the 101b though if I get a decent tax return back. 🤔 It'll probably take forever to find them both to play and compare.

And I need to upgrade my interface, and get a drum sample pad (maybe the alesis strike pad), and after that I think my core studio gear is done done. ..finally. lol. So I think I'll wrap this up this year and after that, it's all icing on the cake stuff.

Tony Pepers announced he's making a noise gate and the price on it isn't bad ($119). I might grab it just for science. See if it's really as much of a steal as it seems to be.

They recently updated the 50w with a toggle switch that gives you the old sound of it, plus the more aggressive tone from the 35. I believe there's a few more changes as well. Basically turns it into a 50w Pandora. I'm definitely curious to try one and see how it sounds versus my 101b.

In other news - I talked to my tech today. He said he had to replace the power tube socket on the Revv and reflow some of the connections to it on the board, as it was damaged in sshipping. However, he said that the ticking seems to be a faulty Reverb board. He reached out to Revv and they asked him a bunch of questions, presumably to see if it still qualified as being under warranty, but I'm not the original owner so I assume that won't be the case. Hoping the part is less than $200, since that's how much wiggle room I have left on my PayPal claim. I also let the guy I got it from know and he just said, "That must've happened in shipping, it worked before." No duh, you packed it terribly.

I've had my Ecstasy Classic for 10 years and I love it, but I settled on it cause I found one for a better price than any of the101bs or 20th annis at the time. Now I'd probably pick up either of the 3534s if I didn't want to hold out for a 20th anni.

awesome! the only one I've tried is the 35 watt one. I really dug it, and if that was the only version made I would have pulled the trigger on it. They pop up used more so they're relatively easy to find compared to the other ones.

Ok nerds, back to gear purchases!

Does anyone know if theres a scent that these things are attracted to or something? They keep following me home :ugh:

And at least one has “desireables” though I just want safe wattage and to play nicely with the 1982B.

I'm buying an Agile 8 this year to replace the 8 that got sold recently but that's it. I think my buying days are kind of behind me now. Variety of factors that include both lack of financial ability and mental fatigue of constantly searching for something that doesn't exist. Tried enough to know the hunt is going to be a losing battle. We've all read this proclamation before and whatnot, so I don't blame readers who have a skeptical eye, lol. I got a guitar on pre-order from months ago that I'll probably just flip when I get it, unless it blows me out of the water.

Thinking about putting together a couple Strats from parts to have in D standard, but I'm not sure if I will go through with it or not. If I do, I might have one or two with the EMG ALX/ABQ Alexi setup (I have two in my stash). I don't know what the pickup layout would be, though (ie, H, HSS, HSH).

It was mentioned somewhere, that some of you guys want new Mesa 4X12 & 2X12 metal grill cabs.

I just saw a new post on IG from Mesa, saying they are now building these again, and they are for sale.

The only real issue I foresee is the nut, which on some necks, don't like more than a 9-42 set on them. I've not had any experience with nut filing, and I'm not particularly interested in learning at the moment, so that's a bit of a hinderance.
Sounds like an excuse. 99% of guitars handle 10-46 from factory since thats what many ship with and is barely a change from 9-42. Im running 10-46 with no issues.

Just build the guitar, put on the strings and play it. Or dont
