Has anyone found a good Vildhjarta tone for the song Dagger through a 6505+?
POD XT + Palmer and You're there
with peaveys I would use a heavy low pass filter and massive gain.
It's a pod XT live + Boss E.Q pedal into a D.i system of some sort, I think possibly a radial D.I box but I can't be sure of that.
Based on what I know of the pods I've had, there's not much gain to their setup, just a lot of mids. Pods are notorious for having much more gain that you really need to use. I have a great high gain patch I use live with D.I for the HD500 and my engl amp gain is on 10%
I think everyone's comments are in the right direction.
I am not blown away by their live tone though. Seems painfully compressed. Their sound might be idealized/perfected for more of a studio mix.
Um, yeah, as is the tone on their album. It's cool for the album, but not the type of tone I can imagine anyone would ever want live, 'in-the-room'.
Yes, PODs can definitely nail the tone.
Their new album screams the Big Bottom model. Also, they have an almost wah-like top end that I really like on that album.
That's the POD XT for you. Vildhjarta swears by them because of "that" sound that only the XT's produce.
Which Palmer? PDI-01 or PDI-09??
Blast your highs and presence, lower everything else and dje-dje-dj-dj-djent your heart out.
Also, add a couple noise gates and a bunch of compression.
