To a point. It's something like the "yogurt isn't healthy, have ice cream instead!" comment -> neither is a black and white "healthy" or "unhealthy" choice, they just need to fit into the context of whatever else you're already eating. But that's a far cry from choosing a glass of water or a coffee with no sugar over chugging a bottle of coke. I'd be fine with a blanket statement of "soda is probably just bad for you", or making it a general rule to prefer things that don't have much added sugar in general, but I agree the line isn't so clear in a lot of other cases.

i'm not advocating a fat free diet, all i was saying is that for people trying to lose weight, cutting fat from their diet is more metabolically efficient than cutting carbs due to fat being more calorically dense. it's just another way to approach weight loss besides just slashing calorie intake across the board, or doing keto, etc.

Is a valid general rule since you most likely wont calculate every single calorie you introduce or balance your weekly sugar intake around a can of soda.

A more valid general rule ,imho, could be to avoid, if possible, any type of food that has been processed to the extreme, such has margarine or processed meat.

This is not entirely for the amount of calories per gram, but also for the nature or the nutrients present in these foods (trans fatty acids exc.).

My entire point is that there is no harmful food per se but only potentially harmful eating habits.

You know, I'm actually going to have to jump in on this one.
I remember the first time I tried one, I was in like my freshman year of high school and it just tasted like liquid life. It was so good.

But now I crack one open and it tastes almost like carbonated cough syrup. The last 10 years of intense addiction must have ruined it for me

I gave up on energy drinks years ago. the vast majority of them taste horrible to me (except for ripits, I still like those  ) caffeine pills are way cheaper and I can take them with whatever drink I choose.

Ever notice companies like Monster and Redbull only advertise as an “extreme” sports drink only (drifting, freestyle mx, jackass type ‘sports’ lol) actual athletes don’t drink this shit as a sports drink

I stopped drinking coke a few years ago, and now.... whenever I do have some it's MUCH MORE AMAZING than I remember.

There is no logical reason to buy an original tubescreamer when you can get a chinese tubescreamer for under 50$ with the same JRC4458D chip.
People are insane for dropping 500$+ on old tube screamers

ehh.. depends on the amp you're using. they're basically a prerequisite for playing older flubbier rectos imo. I'm at the point where I don't like ts style boosts because I have more than enough mids coming from my pickups/amps, and I really don't need even more mids. clean boosts are where it's at anyways :p

Monster, to me, tastes like straight up dirt along with like 90% of the energy drinks out there. I'm addicted to Red Bull though, I'd use it to replace water if it wouldn't kill me.

It's odd for me because I only ever drank them as a soda alternate because I liked the taste and was bored of all the normal sodas
Never even really cared about the whole ENERGY BRO aspect, or noticed it either, to be honest. Except for the Rockstar Doubleshots when those were a thing. They had like 320mg of caffeine in them. Probably got discontinued as a health risk.
