Meh it's alright for what it is, I would rather this than most of their other options.
Would require creating/licensing a full headless bridge. That would up production costs significantly. Here all they did was carve off chunks of a “regular” guitar to save weight & space using off the shelf hardware. Much cheaper.
The answer to most questions is money.
if chinese builders can churn out headless strandberg copies for the same price or cheaper then there's no reason they couldn't have made these headless. let's be honest though, they'd still look stupid regardless of if they had a headstock.
Wondering why they are calling it the Vaibrant? Any possibility of Steve having an issue with this (I'm just thinking out loud)?
I think some marketing schlup thought they were being cheeky by calling it that, since it's a clear reference to him and his use of the original pyramids/green dots
