I recently acquired a regular 6505 120 watt head and just bought a used ear candy buzz bomb 2x12 cabinet with 2 Eminence Red Coat CV 75 speakers. I'm thinking of replacing one of the speakers and I need some suggestions on which speaker to get.

If I'm not mistaken, the CV-75 is Eminence's take on the Celestion Vintage 30, even closer than their Governor which is a bit beefier sounding than a V30.

I'd suggest keeping your CV75 and throwing a Swamp Thang in with it. It'll fill in the lows and has sweet highs while the other speaker will handle the mids. I have a very similar setup with Swamps and Governors. It slays. No need to go with Celestions.

Or you could get real experimental and try some speakers from the Weber Tonecvlt line or the new Hesu Demon.

I am looking into getting a swamp thang but that's 150 watts vs 75 watts on the CV75. Wouldn't that be overkiil? What about a G12T-75?

I like the Celestion GT-75 and a V30 together. Sounds great in the Uberkab.

Save a little and pop in the Swamp Thang. If you go with Black Winters, through your 6505 with the speaker you mentioned before plus the Swamp Thang, you'll never look back, I promise that.

Why would you ask for suggestions, then not take any of them, with the idea being that you "don't want to spend a lot," yet the two you post cost more than the ones suggested.

    Makes zero sense at all.

I hear you bro! It's just that I haven't been active here a lot lately and I have to take a step back and realize that 80% of what you guys recommend is usually spot on!

Personally, I'd probably go for the Manowar, but the Swamp Thang isn't a bad suggestion either.

I really like Eminence Legends on the 5150 amps. I don't know. They just sound so full and "complete". Otherwise, V30s are the consensus.
