I was wondering if I could use single string bass bridges to make an 8 string guitar? I can't find any singles for plaining guitars. Is it going to be be too wide?

If I can't use them I'll just make a hardtail.

Graphtech and FFI are cheaper. Other expensive, crazy options include Novax, FFM, maybe Conklin (they make their own, no idea if they're for sale).

Absolutely, but they're not available too often, so they're hard to get.

Making your own using my method gives your bridge more mass (and that mass being brass). I'd highly recommend it, it really sounds great, and it's cheap.

^Ah, I see... Might I be so lucky as to receive the same? I am always looking to expand my knowledge bank. Never know when you might need it.

edit: Are you talking about those bridges you make that have the round posts behind each saddle? Because those look awesome!

    re-edit: Received. Oh yeah! :yum:

^A hacksaw, proper drill bits, centre punch and a machine vice will get you far with that idea of his. A drill press will make it a lot simpler as well, if you have access to one.
