Here is a Schecter USA Trans Tiger Tele. I got this at the same place I buy all my guitars, DCGL. After having it for a week or so, my opinion has not changed of Schecter USA. I think they are the greatest value in well made guitars without equal. The quality of every custom shop I own is quite impressive. I guess I could be called a fan, but I look at it as a public service announcement. Considering the vast choices we all have today, and the fact that a $500 guitar is better made than most guitars of the 60's and 70's in terms of construction methods and fretwork, the world is really our oyster in terms of selection. Sure there are some stinkers out there, but most serious players can build up or tune a guitar to at least be a passable player. Having a guitar that needs no work is a nice thing. I have found that Schecter USA needs no work or extra love to make them superlative. They are simply sublime. I don't like all the shapes or styles they make and lean towards traditional guitars, but even the wild shapes I play from time to time are amazing. So the point is, if you get a chance to try a USA Schecter, I suggest you give it a test drive. Their pickups are fantastic as well...no need to swap them out for me. This Trans Tiger is a swamp ash body, flame maple top, birdseye maple neck, Macassar ebony board, jumbo SS frets. It is technically called a PT Custom but the finish on this one is unique. The neck is a little thicker and has rounder shoulder than my Swirl or Elite. Typical staggered tuners, hidden fret tangs, thick fretboard. It is quite a joy to play and has fantastic sustain. The pickups are standard Schecter Pasadenas….like a hot PAF. I took a family photo of my USA Schecters for comparison.
