Axe Palace usually offers pickups and tunners upgrades on the checkout when you pre-order the guitar, and when you guy it now too. So warranty wont be voided

send them an email to confirm all that, but I guess it wont be voided since they are the ones who order the special run and they are the ones doing the upgrades

The actual manufacturer's warranty is voided by modifications made outside the original manufacturer. Even small stuff like pickup and nut swaps.

This is right on the Axe Palace page for these guitars: "Please note if you spring for any of the pickup or tuner upgrade options, the manufacturer's warranty will be voided."

Never mind, I was in the wrong.

But I still disagree with the pickup swap messing with the warranty, as it doesn’t affect the actual manufacture of the guitar itself.

I've worked at a PRS dealer. If you modify it, the warranty goes away. Even if a dealer does it, as they would have to get factory authorization to do the specific mods.

Of course, you could always bring it back to factory spec if you need work done or take it to the original dealer for the work. There's ways around everything.

PRS actually has a fairly simple, forgiving warranty compared to other companies like ESP: https://www.espguitars.com/pages/warranty

fair enough, I though since they were the dealer making the run of the guitar, they would have factory authorization for it to change pickups.

bit of a gamble I guess, but dont think they would send you a dud. Althouhg stuff could happen after too I guess.... oh well

I wasn’t saying that it didn’t in fact void the warranty, just that I don’t agree with their reasoning that a pickup swap should void it.

Did you read the ESP warranty I linked to?

It's insane. I'm surprised "actually playing the guitar" isn't a void.

Oh yea, it’s ridiculous. Can’t even change your action.

I own all 3. Get the Apocalypse!
Check my NGDs for more info. Most informative post is this one

The pickups in the Apocalypse are one of my favorite pickup sets (if not my overall favorite, period). The Fishmans are fantastic (KM set and Modern set) but they still don't have the same qualities passive pickups do (even when in their alternate voicing modes).
