Do you mean its just less busy? What I like about it is that its just super symmetrical (which well duh bookmatched), and the grey part really just frames the rest of it. Like the wood was chosen imo to be very visually pleasing and the lacquer really makes the top pop. Like literally I like this top 10x more post lacquer and routing. Dylan really knocked this one out of the park.

I'm really just curious what Buckeye Burl sounds like I have read a lot of gnarly things about it on the internet.

Yea, I think it's positioned tastefully with respect to the body so that the top isn't too busy and works with the positioning of the hardware and contours. And not stained, as Kiesel would do.

Regarding sound, I think a soft, weak, diseased wood probably doesn't impart any positive tonal characteristics for the sounds most people are chasing. But I'd be pretty amazed if any of these wood choices made much of a difference as the thin top layer on a super strat type of thing.

Reminder buds. Today is the last day for the Bubinga Cimmerian auction. If you are getting in, today is the day lol. I feel like a hype man.

One bid. I know the guy who got it, but I was expecting a bidding war.

Haha congrats to your homey. I am not exactly surprised I mean the price started pretty high so a lot of people were probably just priced out early.

I thought it might not generate a huge amount of bids, since a one piece bubinga guitar isn't exactly a spec everyone is clamouring for. Cool guitar though!

I put it down in February 2014. BUT he called my name last year around this time but I was in the middle of building a new place and was worried about not having all the cash when the time came so luckily he moved me down 1 batch to help me out. Really cool of him to do that.

This one really knocked my socks off. Just when I start to get a little bored with Daemoness stuff due to it not really being my cup of tea he comes up with something really interesting and fresh. I have never been a fan of these laser-cut/aluminum-based inlays (at least I think that's how he does it) until this one. This one I love. Looking forward to the full gallery.

Dylan is just such a good artist. That's really what makes his inlay work so nuts. I am not sure what I am seeing but it looks super cool lol.

He keeps saying alien sex inlay, but I'm just seeing a skull and snakes. Am I missing something? I love it!

I'm a little confused as well. This appears to be the lower half of a body, occupied by snakes, with a skull hanging above, also occupied by snakes. Plus the snake swimming. Is there an Alien scene reference?
