    Overview:
I got this from Capitol Guitars in St. Paul, which is a cool little guitar shop loaded with tasty guitars and amps that I frequent on occasion. I went in originally looking for an LTD black metal MII with a floyd, which they had, and which played great, but this guitar was begging me to play it. I got an employee to grab it off the wall for me, and I plugged it into a Katana 50 on the brown sound setting. It was love at first chug. I knew I was taking it home because it put a permanent shit eating grin on my face while playing it in the store.
I finally found a trem loaded guitar that I like, nay, love. All my past experiences with trems (whether floating or not) have been terrible and made me swear off trem loaded guitars for years.
    SPECS:
    ferrari red paint job
    25.5" scale
    alder body
    all maple neck
maple fretboard, black fret markers on top and side
original floyd rose tremolo (not completely floating, so it's only really meant for vibrato/divebombs, not huge dime squeals)
    schaller tuners
    metal speed knob
    black brushed Metal backplates
    black hardware
Seymour Duncan Custom 5 bridge and 59' neck

Sound: The custom 5 is great, especially when paired with the 59 neck. Both clean up really well. The 59 neck is buttery smooth and warm sounding for lead work. I really love how it sounds when I roll back the volume knob for chordal work/cleans. Sweeps and legato are very smooth, and I find myself enjoying this pickup even more than the liquifire in my mushok (which was one of my favorite neck pickups besides the cold sweat).
The custom 5 is med-high output and is quite tonally versatile ime. I mostly use it for thrashy stuff or 80s hair metal but I know the pickup can do so much more from my time with it in my shootout, where I used it for a bunch of different genres. Anyone that says ThE mIdS aRe ToO sCoOpeD with it, I wholeheartedly disagree, there's a slight notch in the midrange but it just helps accentuate the lows and high ends better. With any decently eq'd map it's not even an issue. If anything I like the slight notch since it makes the low end feel like it's hitting harder. The custom 5 is a tight riff machine (if you feed it enough gain) but isn't anywhere near as brutally stiff as say an M6. It's like a poor man's black winter, though I actually prefer this pairing to the black winter set, which is blasphemy, I know.

    CLIPS

It's just the guitar straight into my Revv 100p and then into my torpedo captor/DAW where I used wall of sound with some oversized Recto 4x12 impulses from mesa boogie.
Some of the clips are off the cuff, so they're basically random noodling like the shitty slayer/pantera-lite clips.

Behold, the glorious USA Charvel Star in ferrari red.
PICS (the guitar is all smudged because I can't keep my hands off of it :D ) :

I love pointy charvels. If they made the pro mod series have some with pointy headstocks and fender I might just pick one up

you could always try and track down one of the old desolation charvel stars. They pop up pretty cheap from time to time.

The scuffs on the side of the headstock look like someone was using a winder to string up quicker and was not careful enough with it

Yeah I could do that, although the few I have seen have issues with them which sucks. I wouldn't even mind a soloist/strat one with a maple board.

Super cool. Custom 5 is a thrash secret weapon—first pickup I go to for that sound.
