So, this is a bit belated, as I got it a little over a month ago, but here is a 4 string Ennea "Inky" bass from Simon Padalka. I cannot say enough good things about Simon. His work is absolute perfection, but he is super humble, super honest, and very communicative. He's like the Tom Drinkwater of Russia.
Anyway, I tried to get some photos in direct sunlight to really bring out the color, but kind of failed, so I'll include the studio shots from Simon.
I'll be doing a video of the bass, as well, but I have to get it all set up, since I don't normally do that sort of thing.
Feast your eyes! Here are all the studio shots: http://padalka-guitars.com/ennea-inky-gallery/#

HNGD! I fucking love that shape, same with his saturn/neptune shapes. One of the few builders out there actually doing more modern shapes for ERGs. The color scheme is sick.

    DAMN, it's sexy.
I usually don't fuck with singlecut design on bass, but this... hmmmmmmmmm
    And that finish ...
You, sir, are a man of exquisite taste.

Nice one! Man, I love that slim line of blue between the body and fretboard.

congreats, Ive seen that one long tiime ago. I love his designs, Im bit worried about the upper horn and how it will affect my hand. I havent pay attention to my playing to see where my thumb is in those areas of the neck.

GASing pretty hard about one, specially since I saw he can do differetn wood tops for this shape

already dropped the idea of Ibanez making a bass I like in finishes/color/specs. And sicne I finally have a good income Im thinking to order a custom. Mayones would be great but over ehre would be too much, this guy is on my list for sure.

Also curious about the process, particularly build times and prices. I recently got a custom 5 string headless 33" from ACG (no NBD yet lol), but I've been wishing I had gotten it fretless, so I'm looking around at my options, haha.

So, I did not actually order this. In November of 2016 I was talking with him, and he was starting this build to be an in-stock instrument - the specs and color were already chosen - so I jumped in at that point. But, I had seen the green Ennea, and I knew it would be stunning, so I was not specifically concerned.
But, to answer your question in general, he is exceptionally easy to deal with, and his website, wiring, frework, design, etc. all reflect the same thing - he wants everything to be top notch. So, as you might expect, his communication is the same way.
I also talked with him about doing some changes to the Ennea model, and going longer scale, etc. He told me he feels like the design is good the way it is, and does not need to be altered. Which, I totally respect. It's clear he spent a lot of time on it, and no need to muddy it down with my changes.
At any rate, I would definitely order from him, if you guys are on the fence. Super honest dude, and exceptionally good at what he does.

Love it! I want him to build me an Ennea single cut headless guitar but need to wait for a spot to open up so we can discuss that. I'd take a Saturn or Neptune if not.

That's a very unusual shape, looks quirky. The 36" scale is an unusual choice, I guess he's really aiming at the metal and low tuned rock crowd with this.

Or standard tuning with lighter gauge strings. I see a breathtaking instrument that can fit in with any music one wishes to play.
Side note: Simon told me he would like to do a guitar version, but needs to spend some time rendering and measuring to see if a headless is feasible for a future build.

What the flying finger fck is this, and why have I not heard of this builder before? That thing is slick! If it were purple and had 2 more strings, I'd shed a tear.

You *might be able to get a build. He opened up a couple spots for the year as of the 10th so there’s a chance, though it may be too late already.
