    FedEx brought me this today:

Needs to be setup, the bridge saddles are in a straight line but it still feels amazing right out of the case.

Couldn't have said it better. It was my dream guitar for a while.
When I was unpacking it, even the quality of the case impressed me. It's so soft inside I'd curl up and take a nap in it if I was small enough. There was also a nice leather bound certificate of authenticity from the Custom Shop.

I used to have a 97 LP Studio and though it was just over 10 years ago now since it was stolen, the body on this one feels thicker. But it's very possible it's just me misremembering

Studios are slightly thinner. Huge Les Paul nerd here lol.

Thanks for the info. I put in enough hours on the Studio over many years to have imagined it.

And you always will have GAS for it until you get one. Trust me, I wanted a Silverburst over 20 years. All the pictures in the world could never have done it justice. The neck I find more comfortable than my Studio too. It's still got some meat to it, but not quite a sawed in half baseball bat. Very comfortable.

This is the only finish that would make me buy a LP. Looks so damn good (and I don't like Gibson).

    Congrats on the NGD!

Unf, LOVE the silverburst. What year is this one? It looks brand new and I noticed the badge on the toggle cover

It's a 2014 so it's Richlite instead of an ebony fingerboard. I was kinda biased at first but I approached it with an open mind and as much as I'm a wood purist, I really can't find anything bad to say about it. I got the impression from the kid and his dad that I bought it from that it was his first guitar and he didn't end up playing so it sat around. I know I'm the second owner. The only marks on it were removed with a tiny bit of spit and a tshirt. I got the impression it was barely played and never setup. The bridge saddles were in a straight line so I broke out my strobe tuner a couple hours ago and properly intonated it. Although it'll need more adjustments when I switch string gauges, my car is having work done or I would've picked up new strings today.

Oh wow, that's an excellent circumstance to find one in. I've never had much of a problem with non-wood fingerboards so with these, as long as it's DARK, it rules enough for me to not worry about it

    HNGD!

I just compared it side by side to my Jackson SLSMG with Ebony and aside form the fact that the Jacksons fingerboard could use a good cleaning, they look virtually identical from a couple inches away. I don't notice any issue with sound or feel either. So even though I would've taken ebony over Richlite given the choice. Playing it I can't tell the difference.

I'm just loving my new toy in every way possible. I almost want to frame the nice leather bound certificate of authenticity.
