I find it funny I’ve seen hem with Daniel, Elliot, and Ashe, and that’s only half the vocalists

Altered State connected with me on an extremely personal level. So while I was partial to Ashe, by far, all my complaining won't change who TesseracT picks to sing for them. My only hope is that they keep cranking out the music they love to play.

for anyone interested, Acle confirmed to me that the guitar tones are 50% normal bareknucle humbucker, and 50% coil tapped neck pickup blended. That explains the AWESOME Tesseract single coil twang.
Some parts the coil tap parts were even played an octave higher because "why not" haha.

I'm happiest when they release instrumental stuff! Not that the singers aren't great in their own ways. Just not my thing.

If all you are doing is using the singer's names, then yeah, you have a point. However, I (and probably others) liked the vocal approach on One a lot. When Dan came back, they completely abandoned it and just used his falsetto, his pop punky voice, and his Fred Durst imitation. The reason I liked One's vocals more than Altered State was that he was good at screaming, and thus even the clean vocals felt like they had more of an edge to them since they'd throw them in here and there! So, for me at least, it's more like this:

Tesseract fans circa 2011: Bring Back Dan

Tesseract fans circa 2015: Bring back Dan's testosterone

I love one and altered state, I listened to Polaris 3 times and that was enough for me, really don't like that album besides like 3 songs.

I'll see what else they put out in the future.

I think it'll grow on me. I prefer One and Altered State to Polaris, but Polaris is really beginning to grow on me and I'm really appreciating it for the album it is, rather than the albums it isn't. So I'm sure I'll enjoy the next album too in time.

I haven't listened to a ton of stuff he's done, as everything I've heard from Tesseract was never really my bag, but the synthpop project he did with Dan Weller was super awesome and definitely my favortie thing he's done. That album/band In Colour was supposed to come out in Summer 2013, and it's still sitting on harddrives somewhere.

love all of the albums, out of the 3 Polaris the one I like the less. One and Altered State I like them iin different ways, so cant put one over the other no pun intended lol.

But theres def something about those, I hate the only tab books are for Polaris. I could learn any song of One or Altered State (if not its on my to do list once I get my 7 string), but I have 0 desire to learn anything from Polaris, maybe 1-2 songs?

Pleaaaase release the tab books for those albums!!!

other than that, love this new track, lets see how the rest of the album plays out

Well, this seems to have turned into a Tesseract discography opinion thread, so here we go!

One- Not bad, great debut record.
Altered State- Fucking life changing masterpiece of a record with one of the best vocal performances of recent memory.
Polaris- Douche chill garbage, completely unlistenable.
New Single- MUCH better than anything on Polaris, but I feel like I'm listening to Skyharbor. Not a bad thing necessarily, we'll see where this goes......

P.S. I have strong opinions when it comes to Tesseract haha

Love the song, a bit more straightforward but without losing their sound and the mix is fantastic as expected!

Haven't been interested in anything Tesseract since One, but this is good music, boys & girls.

I think this sounds pretty good. As many changes as this band has gone through, I've always been pretty satisfied with how their sound has evolved. Can't say that about many other bands.

I'm a huge Tesseract fan, I loved One, Altered State and Polaris, but I have to say that both Luminary and Smile aren't growing on me at all, dunno exactly why
