New song has me fairly interested. I like it more than anything off of their last album. Here's to hoping it'll grow on me.

I gotta be honest. One and Altered State are two of my favorite records that I spinned constantly. But Polaris kinda underwhelmed me, and this kinda feels the same.

Polaris was perfect. This is overproduced.

I feel they are trying a bit too hard to be off-beat/rhythmically 'interesting' with this one, I think it'd help the song if there'd be a bit more possible head bob and flow, but that's more a personal thing than antyhing else I guess.
Also like the parts individually but they do change into the other fairly abruptly imo.
I do like the production and I think the vocals are a bit more interesting than stuff of the previous album, I'll check it out.

agree with this. Those 2 are defo better than Polaris to my tastes. I just love pure headbang groove.

Sometimes they just throw in over complication for the sake of it to complete determent of the song/riff imo. Sometimes just good ol 4/4 cant be beaten.

but either way, their tone is unreal regardless of album to me.

Probably because everybody complained Smile sounded like crap even though they made it 100% clear it was a demo.

Eh... Kinda boring to me with not a whole lot going on. It'll probably grow on me, but I'm still very excited for the album!

Implying that their other albums aren't overproduced...?

Just a really weak song IMO. The band was kind of interesting around the first album but just went nowhere from there.

    thats a tad harsh.
I do prefer the first couple of offerings and I would always prefer Monuments over them.
Hell give me Fellsilent back again!!.

I hate to say it... but between Tesseract and all of the side projects/guest vocals Dan's done over the years, everything he does just sounds the same to me now...

Like a lot of their songs sadly. Concealing Fate is still one of my all time favorite pieces, but nothing else from the catalogue has really grabbed me the same way.

Yeah. He's got a great voice but little variety. Hopefully there's a bit more aggression on this album.
