This battle definitely has two sides. I'm sure Peavey has taken some hit when the EVH 5150 came out. He improved upon their flagship. It seems like a lot of Peavey's wounds since have been self-inflicted (labor, etc), but either way, if the battle is producing better versions of a cornerstone amp? I'll take it.

Hey I'm an EVH guy... I prob have 20 EVH/Peavey/EBMM guitars and amps (need a Charvel!) lol. So you won't hear me complaining personally. The EVH 5153 is basically what a Voodoo or FJAMOD Peavey 5150 is... improved on all of the inherent flaws, like adding an actual 3rd clean channel, lessening the hiss and flub, etc. And I was as sad as anyone when Peavey shut down the Meridian MS shop. I used to have all my guitars set up by Steve in the custom shop and they were flawless. The best fret polishing/leveling and action I've ever had. I had a Wolfgang that some a-hole had taken completely apart and thrown the pieces in a box, and he put it back together and made it play like a custom shop showpiece for me.

I am kinda curious... if it's true they closed the big shop in Mississippi, where are these being produced? Along with the Invective and the new Cirruses?

Little SNAMM video. Guy gets a little nervous trying to dance around the vague EVH question.

Those prices aren't that much more then when I started buying mine in the late 90's which is awesome!

I think the HQ and plant are still there, but the CS closed down when they stopped making the HP models.

He might be a pain in the ass, but when he's right, he's right.

That is awesome, I'd much rather own a Peavey than a FMIC EVH branded guitar.

Got to check one out in person today. These are killer, especially for the price. Didn't get to plug it in, but dude was telling me how much it ripped. It was one of the NAMM ones, dude also ones the blue one in that video and has a third on order. The neck has a nice worn in look to it and the oiled neck remains the best neck finish.
On the radar, but not something happening anytime soon.

Is there a carve underneath the floyd? Or is it not floating like the Wolfgangs?

It's weird, cuz it looks like the Floyd does have routing, but there's no routing under the string clamp screws.

I was looking at the specs on Sweetwater and noticed it was a "Peavey lisenced Floyd Rose trem" , anyone know what that means? It has the Peavey branding on it so are they manufacturing their own trems with permission from FR?

I'm not sure who makes them, but they are Peavey branded and some old Floyd elements. Mounts are small screws, for example.

From what my dealer told me the Peavey Licensed Floyds are probably from the original run of guitars made when they were EVH Sigs, made be either Ping or Gotoh. Mine comes in September, so I will give a proper review.

Kinda confirms some rumors I heard; that these guitars were made from parts (hardware, necks, bodies, etc) of the original Wolfgang series Peavey had in backstock.

    Awesome. Semi-NOS.

Also explains why they used the '90s blocky logo.

Are these going to be a normal production or a limited edition? Will they make new parts after the old stock is gone?
