Hello, I started making this guitar today:
    20615500_780523305454231_280683047_o.jpg
    Ken Lawrence headstock.

    20616119_780523165454245_933405234_o.jpg

Maple body wings and neck, 9 cm wide neck and 4 cm thick along with the body wings.

    20622918_780522982120930_9932027_o.jpg
The scarf joint; used 2 nuts to hold it in place.

    20622660_780522915454270_913046089_o.jpg

Also want to mention this guitar will be a ]v[egadet]-[ tribute guitar, so:
    - The inlays will be the band's albums(not all)
    - I plan engraving rattlehead on the back of the guitar, at the neck heel
But it got James Hetfield's headstock..... the irony :)

The KL stock makes the Kelly look extra vicious. Awesome idea! Can't wait to see more!

hmm surprised no one has done that before, the KL headstock pairs really well with the kelly body shape. I hope you have some dark sounding pickups because that guitar is going to sound insanely bright with that much maple.

Really nice so far. I like how you profile the back of the neck and, yes, that headstock is fucking killer!

Nice. The headstock carve looks great. What's the fretboard wood?

    Hmm nice!

I played one of the George lynch all maple ESP's, and that bastard was like 12 lbs. Super heavy for a superstrat, but it sounded awesome.

Yeah, it'll be natural with mahogany varnish and I guess it's going to be matte.

Put the frets on, continued a bit with the in-lays; until got bored....
After I routed the bridge, pick-up and control cavities. 20773580_784158458424049_733969996_o.jpg

This one is routed by hand, the rest are made with a straight wood and 2 clamps :))

I don't wanna detract from the overall awesomeness, but that fretboard glue line reminds me of my first couple of builds. A luthier can never have too many clamps. And spool clamps! They are my new best friend.
