    I KEEP BUYING THEM

This time it's a Regius 7 Custom Shop from my trip to Japan. Turns out Mayones are very reasonably priced over there??? Anyway here's the specs:

    25.4" scale
    SS frets
    BKP Juggernauts
1 vol, 1 tone, 3 way switch with coil tap
Black limba body, myrtlewood top, standard 7pc maple/etc/etc neck, ebony board
    Black binding
    Hipshot bridge and tuners
Gloss finish top, satin everywhere else

OK BORING STUFF DONE HERE ARE SOME PICS

I've always thought the black binding looked way better than the white/pearloid one they usually use.

Wonderful figuring on the top, not sure if there's some light spalting on the bottom or it's just the figure of the wood but either way it owns

I *think* custom shop Mayos all have inlaid Ms on the headstock instead of the raised chrome ones regular Mayos have these days but I'm not sure

The back is *almost* prettier than the front

This is my first Regius with the newer body profile. It's not super noticeable but it is a little more comfy. I've always found them comfortable anyway but I can see why it would bug some people.

I've had it for a few weeks now and it's my new favorite standard-scale guitar. Utterly flawless, as you'd expect. This and my Ran are now the two best-built guitars I own. It's a litte darker sounding than my other Juggernaut-equipped guitars, maybe because of the limba body wings. The pickups aren't everyone's cup of tea but I love them, particularly for clean tones oddly enough. The coil tapped sounds are really nice too, you can approach Strat-style chimey cleans on the tapped neck pickup. I feel like solid black pickup covers would've worked better than the battleworn ones but it's not worth swapping them out just for the cosmetics. I've currently got it in drop-A but I might go down to drop-Ab, any lower than that and I start running into tuning issues on my standard-scale guitars, at least with the kind of setup I like.

    ANYWAY GUITARS ARE COOL, BYE

That's a very nicely dressed up Regius. Neat and proper, this one. You like the Juggs, huh? What other guitars do you have them in? As I said I'm thinking about swapping mine, but I'm still experimenting with dialing out the wheezing I've mentioned in other threads.

I've got a Jackson MM 7 and a Regius 8 with them and I dig both, but I definitely get why they're not everybody's cup of tea. I put a set of Nailbombs with a ceramic one in the bridge in my other Regius 7 that has an ash body and maple neck and it sounds incredible, but they seem to be VERY dependant on what guitar you put 'em in- I tried a John Browne signature with the same pickups and hated it- I think the wenge neck didn't play well with them.

I'm in awe that you've managed to turn a love of butts into such an impressive guitar collection.

Yeah, I'm not at 'hating' them by any means, but they're very sensitive. I have them in a CU24 and it's a pretty different experience. In my Regius (swamp ash/maple top) they really need some taming.

    That’s nice!!!

And yeah, it seems that sometimes it’s cheaper to import a Mayones into the US from Japan than buy one from a US Dealer...

That is incredible, congrats. Mayones is weirdly not overpriced here. Even more impressive you got BKPs included since a set of BKPs bought separately will easily run you $500

    Personally, I prefer Miracle Whip.

Oh, you didn't mean Mayonnaise. My apologies. Cool guitar dude.

You can't go wrong with either one tbh, they're both insanely good brands

^ Yeah I was about to send off an Aristides order, but I need to update my metal band rig. Then I've seen some Duvells at good prices and I'm torn haha.

I much prefer the hipshot bridge on your Regius to the stock one on mine (ABM?)

I've got that ABM bridge on my 8 and my other 7 and I honestly don't notice a difference between them and the Hipshot, maybe I'm just not picky.

I find them harder to intonate for some reason, someone else on the forum had the same issue a few years back. Luckily I should have a NGD with a Schaller hannes bridge soon...
