So true. I think it's just the direction that a lot of people are going in nowadays. Most practice and smaller amps are just better than what they used to be.

I wonder if they revoiced the Vintage mode on the MW, because I hated it on my Single. Vintage on the MW sounds really close to the Modern mode, but is a bit smoother and not as scooped. It's also a tad looser. I think it's my favorite mode.

I went through a big swapping phase about 18 months ago and got sick of swapping tubes and just decided one day it sounded good enough and left it

Yeah, Ola's video sounds good. It seems like the Tremoverb always sounds good. Actually, the first Recto I ever heard in person was a Tremoverb back when we all played Crate combos. I think that is one reason why I have always chased that sound. :)

What’s the issue? Just can’t seem to find an amp that works for you? There’s a Tremoverb for sale locally that I might go check out. Otherwise I might hit you up as I haven’t had a recto in the stable for a while. Not that I need one, or will even play it that often

Dude, every time i see you posting it seems to be you saying you've found your new favourite amp, and then within a week or two you announce you're getting rid of it again

No issue. I love the recto. Some life priorities have recently come up though.

Hmm...The only other amp I've recently purchased that REALLY impressed me was the Archon. I only got rid of it, because the fx loop was horrible.

What other amp did I say was my favorite?

Btw, I love the recto. See my post above.

What's so special about those tremoverbs? It sounded tighter than any recto he had demoed.

We talked about the 5153 Stealth and by the end of the thread you said you were selling it.

Ah sorry, I wasn't critisizing, just kinda hoping you find the amp you really want.

Yeh that video has me wanting one for the first time. The palm mutes sound monumental. Every other rectifier i've heard has sounded really farty in that regard.

I definitely miss my Tremoverb. I traded it for a Mark V:25 because I wasn't playing live as much anymore, and I miss it the most out of any amp I've had. Got a Roadster to try and get the feel from the Tremoverb back, and it just wasn't the same.

    No worries!

Yeah, the Stealth was awesome. Only sold it because it made a weird popping sound whenever I turned it on. I was afraid it was going to blow up on me. :D

This thread has me super curious about the Multi-Watt rectos.
I'll be honest, I was never a fan of rectifiers until recently. I had a couple 3 channels, and a couple tremoverbs, and neither of them really did anything to impress me at all. Both seemed so muddy and sloppy sounding in comparison to the other amps I had, and hard to play was an understatement.
That all changed when I picked up a 95 2 Channel Triple rectifier for $600 to flip, and ended up loving it. Way tighter, way more clear, WAY more mids (one of my biggest complaints was the scoopiness of the 3 channel). My other guitarist liked it so much, he went on a rectifiier hunt, and picked up a 2nd gen Single Rec, and that actually sounds super similar and also great.
The reborn has been on my radar, and now I'm really interested.
