This is my first time seeing this and.....

I think I just shipped my pants.

I've wanted something that could rival strymon pedals quality but something that has dirt / gain / distortion effects to run pre amp, and this thing is setup purposefully to go pre-amp and in the FX loop... which would make my life ten times easier.....

Gah I hate being broke... :wallbash:

A tad pricey. But if it is THAT good as they say it is, then I'd think about purchasing it. If they have solved the 4 cable setup/tone loss problem, that would also be pretty cool.

For half the price of a new AxeFX? Can they just provide the amp modeling at that price and keep the effects?

Hahaha I would rather just use UAD for everything.

If you look at building an 8 effect pedal board out of individual pedals you will most likely end up spending near the same amount if not more...

Average boutique or good quality mass market pedal = $150
    8 pedal power supply = $169
Pedal board with case = $150
    Cables = $20

So your looking at about $1540 plus tax / shipping for an equivalent pedal board. With only one tonal option per pedal. So for some people this could be a cheaper and easier while being more flexible option.

But your right the price is no joke, so I totally understand.

Price seems to be right in line with the G System which I guess is the main competition for this right?

I am well aware of that, but for the price I'd rather save up $1000 more for an axe 2 and get all of the effects plus all of the amp modeling.

I guess their expanding their market and trying to appeal to people who use tube or SS amps. Not everyone is in to modelling (I'm personally not), but for those who want extremely high quality effects sounds with an intelligent layout and routing options this is an interesting option. And if you want the modelling you can still fork out the extra cash to get the Axe-FX.

So would I be able to hook this up to my 5153 50w using MIDI and use it to switch channels?

A little pricier than I may have thought, but the breakout above makes a lot of sense. Very cool.

THat isn't a bad price but it is more than I was thinking.....

I may consider it. I could use this with any amp that I have or for some fun with my Kemper.

Neat! Thx for posting the list update!

I knew from the start there was no way this was going to come in at less than 1k, but honestly everyone is going to bitch about this and that.

I actually personally would love something like this for my ENGL rig, so I wouldn't have to deal with pedals and a pedal board, but the issue is I own an Axe-Fx II already, but only own an ENGL Z-9 MIDI footswitch. So, that limits what I can do if I wanted to run the Axe-Fx with my amp for live purposes unless I buy their foot controller. It's in the same price point as a TC G-system or very close if you got a decent rack effects unit plus a MIDI footswitch.

Hell I think it would be sweet if Fractal could make plugins that were just as good sounding, but thats not going to happen.

I like it! I think price is pretty good too! :yesway: Considering its made by Fractal, I'm not sure why people were expecting this to be affordable.
