I second the reverse headstock, and I would prefer dots over block inlays. All the electronics and pickups can be swapped out (eventually).

I like it though, good Job Fender.

I normally like what Fender has been putting out lately, like the HS Duo Sonic and Mustang, but this is just a big no for me.

Also I can't help but think about the character from Re:Creators when I see that name.

I completely agree here. If you're going to do 'modern vintage' and already own all the best ingredients for your recipe, use them.

Stop making shit and bring back the Katana!!!

BUT! With a Tele headstock (specially reversed) this new model would be great... just the strat headstock its too big for the shape.

A lot of those are really neat. Not super original because some boutique guys have been doing similar (or the exact same) thing, but good on Fender to realize that they can do it too and legally use their own damn headstock.

    Now make some 7-strings!!!!!!

    I'd take a 7 string Fender Talon.

There has to be at least as big a market for some type of true 7-string Tele/Strat as there is for that Strat-Jaguar amalgam.

Maybe the hardware is expensive to tool up, but still.

Does anyone make a true vintage strat type 7 trem besides the cheapo Chinese ones?

Fender and I think Schecter have produced some in their custom shops for Alex Gregory (DO NOT start bashing him here please), but otherwise no.

Personally I’d just use those trems (they’re all a bent piece of metal, it’s fine), the Hipshot (two-point, but again, it’s fine), or just use a Floyd (actually stays in tune for big dives).

Yeah, the LP Tele, Jazzmaster Tele, and the GretschTele are pretty sweet IMHO.

Isn't there some legal shit preventing Fender from making a 7-string? I thought it was false, but I'm starting to wonder.

the lp tele just needs speed knobs to complete the LP look. I think overall I like the sparkly orange gretsch esque one the most though.

Given that they made Squier VIIs and “licensed” the headstocks to Charvel for 7-strings, unless they specially can’t say “Fender,” it seems doubtful.

Plus I know one of their masterbuilders was going to bring a 7-string Strat to NAMM many years ago. The guitar only was half built, but the story I heard was that it wasn’t completed only because the masterbuilder quit first, not because FMIC told him he couldn’t do it.

Fender also had several 7-string non-fine tuning locking bridges built are the same time. They worried that they couldn’t use them because there was a goof that they didn’t have the Floyd patent markings, not because they didn’t think they could build a 7-string.

These are rumblings that I’ve heard. Nothing suggesting that they legally couldn’t do it.

Man, I love vintage-style mash-ups, so that Parallel Universe series is tickling all my fancies.

Miss me with that Meteora nonsense, though.
