I had played one of these at a local GC a while back and was pretty floored by how good it was for the price so when I saw that MF had these on sale last week for $319 I went ahead and took the plunge. I think overall it's a very nice guitar, certainly wouldn't be ashamed to gig with it straight out of the box. It has a couple problem areas You'd usually expect from a guitar in this price range, such as a stiff tuning peg, the tone knob feels a little gritty when turning, and the frets could use a good buff and polish. However none of the hardware was loose, the nut is cut and installed properly, and the inlay work is quite spot on especially for how detailed they went with it. The stock pickups sound just OK, pretty thin for humbuckers, but I have already have some Duncans on the way to fix that issue. IMO Schecter is really killing it in the $300-600 price range, I wouldn't even bother recommending another brand if that's what someone has to spend on a new guitar.

That's a fine looking guitar. Digging that finish. Would be interested to hear what you make of it with the new pups. Which SD's did you go for btw?

Thanks! Went with the Duncan Distortion neck and bridge set. I'm usually a JB fan, but after listening to some sound clips I think the Distortion should be a good fit for what I'm looking for out of this guitar.

Cool. I've tried one of those in the bridge position....pretty impressed. Quality pups. Serious crunch but remain articulate.

Really nice guitar and body colour. That guitar sure looks classy. Schecter guitars seem to be very top-notch instruments. I've had a chance to play one many years ago and I was impressed by it's feel & play-ability. Congrats on your purchase. It sure looks like a keeper.
