These seem to sound pretty good in most of the demos I’ve seen, but I rarely see them recommended or discussed. Anyone using the Generator or Dynamis? Thoughts?

Loomis is currently using a Helix so he doesn't really count lol. I liked all the demos I've heard of them but I don't think I'd grab a revv over a KSR or MI beta. I have some revv gen 120 profiles on my kemper and they do sound pretty good, kinda engl/rectoish

I've got three friends that use them and have nothing but good things to say about them, and a fourth friend is waiting on his Generator 120 at the moment. Personally, they don't really appeal to me. When they initially came out, having the standard youtube guys demo and rave about them had me firmly disinterested.

If I was dropping that cash for a custom amp, it's Verellen, KSR or Fortin.

Just looked on their artists page... meh. For Fluff they wrote "Ryan 'Fluff' Bruce is a jack of many trades and a master of none."
I don't know if its because English isn't my first language but isn't that essentially saying he's not really good at anything just meh at a lot of things? LOL

You are right about that but I think Fluff probably wrote it himself. It sounds like his type of humor.

Sorry to sidetrack but it was mentioned so I'll throw out my 2 cents. I am also happily on board the Helix rack train. It is a great centralized unit to organize and control everything through midi. The effects are great and in my opinion the sound and feel of the amp models is on par with axefx and kemper. I have it set up with tube amps but more often than not I just wind up playing the helix frfr.

Yeah, I'd guess Fluff wrote that himself. Otherwise it would be a bit insulting lol.

But you stfu with that Helix talk @TheRileyOBrien! lol

Anyway, interesting. So what I'm getting from this conversation so far is that the people who have them like them a lot, and that others just aren't that interested. I've seen a couple of videos about KSR amps and those also look to be pretty good but I didn't really pay much attention. I'll have to take a closer look.

Don't know anyone using them, but then it's a canadian brand that's pretty expensive in the EU and they endup having to compete pricewise with the high end Marshalls and Engls.

Almost all of the posts here are about YouTubers who use them rather than anyone from this forum. Their reputation appears to be good and if Fluff is being honest, he still uses and stands by it, unlike his experience with Panama amps, which he endorsed a few years back and now says they're pieces of shit.

And we dislike most of the those youtuber videos. They are gear whores who like what's given to them at that moment :coffee:

I don't know whether they sound similar or not, but from the first time I saw them they just looked like they had copied the KSR design aesthetic and ideas, while going after the same type of guitar player.

I understand that it's pretty much a requirement to have sponsorships if you're a big YouTube musician and it gets rather annoying (I'm seeing a lot of Ernie Ball sponsorships lately even in smaller channels like Nik Nocturnal and Vow of Volition and it annoys me because I do not like their strings). But Revv doesn't seem to be that kind of company that gives out their products to everyone since they make rather expensive boutique amps, they probably just have good connections with those people (especially Fricker since he's from Canada like them).

Ha, I imagine they're a top offender. When a brand pops out of nowhere with like a synchronous wave of youtubers playing them, it's because they know how to market their products (i.e., by paying youtubers to make videos with them). Though this isn't a new thing -- you pay Guitar World to have Paul demo your stuff, and all that award stuff they do is all paid for as well.

If only they were somehow required to state their compensation, people might really change their spending habits.

I think I saw a video recently where someone said YouTube was requiring them to say that they were being paid to do a demo? Wonder if that’s a real thing.
