I dig the Roswell Rhoads and actually owned one a long time ago (in a galaxy far away) but this looks more like that George Lynch V from a few years back.

    Jesus...

I would rather invest 4500$ in a kickstarter to hire a terminator to be sent back to 1984 and assassinate Gibson's current "big new idea" guy...

I'm actually not mad about this - paintjob looks sick. Reminds me of Niel Tiemann's Dunable V. Would I pay $4,500 for it? Hell no, but the majority of us probably aren't buying Gibsons new anyways, right?

I'd rather spend $4000+ dollars on my own custom than this pile of so-so desperation Gibson is passing off.

Gibson making a new shape...30 years late?! Looks like a design from the friggin' eighty's caption with "BEHOLD, the guitar from the future!"

Also make me think of The Jetsons

I think it's linked to the roswell image but a pickguard with just a bridge pup would be great

I actually like it and would jump on an Epiphone or studio version. This is one where they would probably would benefited from a cheaper model released with it, to help raise interest in the premium version that I will most likely never see in a store or in person.

IMHO, (one of) Gibson's problem is testing new stuff with limited custom shop runs. People who have 4-5k$/€ to burn on a Gibson don't generally want the latest idea they had - they want reissue '59 LP's and the archtop stuff. If I had 5000 and wanted a new version of a V, I'd take my money to either Jackson CS or ESP, unless I took the smaller boutique luthier route.
